If there is anything that identifies the growth of the Maltese nation, it is the Maltese language, President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca said while visiting a school in Melbourne which offers Maltese.
The lessons are organised by the Maltese Language Teachers Association of Victoria, which was established in 2013 with the aim of keeping the Maltese language alive through lessons for children and adults.
While addressing those present, the President identified Maltese characteristics, and told the story of how Malta came to be and grow. She thanked those who teach Maltese in Australia.
The Maltese lessons at Taylors Lakes have different formats depending on the age of the students. Children, for example, learn through song.
