Archbishop Mgr Charles Scicluna has hit out at what he describes as ‘revolting greed to the detriment of innocent kids’ after a story in The Malta Independent on Sunday published this morning.

This newsroom reported that visas to Libyans which were supposed to be obtained by children needing medical assistance were instead being sold to people who had not been properly vetted.

In a tweet reproducing the story published, the Archbishop said the scandal was also giving Malta a bad reputation and was also to the detriment of security in Europe.

Cynicism reigns supreme, the head of the Church in Malta wrote.

Mgr Scicluna also retweeted the editorial published in this newspaper which deals with the subject.
