Nationalist Party accuses government of endangering people’s lives

Wednesday, 24 August 2016, 11:18 Last update: about 9 years ago

The Nationalist Party today accused the government of endangering people’s lives by going ahead with its plans to install an LPG gas tank next to the Citadel in Gozo, despite serious concerns expressed by residents.

This decision, taken by the Planning Authority, confirms that the government does not listen to what the people are saying and is ignoring their safety, in the same way it is insisting on having an LPG tanker in Marsaxlokk Bay.

The PN referred to a story in The Malta Independent, stating that the government totally ignored the residents’ objections.

The PN, through its spokesmen Chris Said and Frederick Azzopardi, agreed that a monument to commemorate the Gozo Siege is installed, but this should not be an excuse to have a gas tank that is dangerous to residents nearby.
