A man from Togo and a Maltese woman were arraigned in court after a fight erupted in a Floriana apartment, the Court heard today.
Both Djibril Ganiou, 33, and 41-year-old Caroline Magri were accused of having caused serious offence to a person named Mamadou Dian Diallo. Mr Ganiou is also accused of causing a grievous offence on a person named Mohammen Jallow, while 41-year-old Caroline Magri was also accused of breaching several court sentences.
Dr Franco Debono appearing for the defence, along with Dr Marion Camilleri and Dr Amadeus Cachia, requested bail. Inspector Jeffrey Scicluna, for the prosecution, found no objection in granting bail to Ms Magri, however found objection with Mr Ganiou being allowed out on bail considering he lived in the same apartment as the victims.
Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona heard that Mr Ganiou can live elsewhere, and both were granted bail, on condition that they both live in Ms Magri's apartment. They were granted bail against a €5,000 personal guarantee.
