A 48-year-old man from Zebbug, Gozo is in critical condition following a traffic accident in Marsa early this morning.

The police said the incident took place at around 7am in Aldo Moro Road.

The man was driving a Ural motorbike when he hit the pavement and lost control of the vehicle. He was driving in the direction of Valletta.

The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was found to be in danger of losing his life.

Magistrate Anthony Vella is holding an inquiry. Police from the Hamrun district are also investigating.
