Doris Axisa, 66, ran a flower stall near the Sliema Ferries for years and was well-known for her friendly and outgoing personality.

She died in hospital in Gozo after she lost consciousness when she fell over during a boat trip to Comino.

Doris, who lived in Pieta, had recently taken part in one of 89.7 Bay's Making Malta Great videos.

Her two daughters led hundreds emotional tributes to the Sliema florist on social media.

Davinia Anne Axisa wrote: 'How am I going to live with out you. You were my everything.'

Maria Claudia Buhagiar said her mother was her 'hero'.

She added: 'Although I know that you are in a better place with Dad and your loved ones in heaven I miss you terrible my lovely mum.

'I don't know how life is going to continue without you.'

Mrs Axisa's former customers and friends rushed to pay their respects on Facebook.

One man wrote: 'I did not know her well but used to drive past her flower stall everyday for four years and she was always smiling. Rest in peace.'

Another said: 'She was such a sweet woman. She'd always try and help me find parking around Sliema.

A heartbroken customer added: 'A woman with a big heart and a wonderful smile, always ready to help. I will miss seeing her and will miss our conversations in the mornings.
