Whenever I think that Simon Busuttil has reached the highest possible level of his long collection of ludicrous statements, he always manages to prove me wrong with some new, even more ridiculous statement!

His latest, which beats all his former nonsensical statements, was his claim that he can beat Dr. Joseph Muscat, and I quote: “Because I have already beaten Muscat in 2003. Just as I had beaten him then, I can do it again”!! Who doesn’t know that Simon Busuttil in 2003 was the Head of MIC and not the leader of the PN, just as Dr Joseph Muscat, in 2003, had not even dreamt of ever contesting the PL leadership.

So how can Simon Busuttil say that that he had beaten Dr Muscat in 2003? Besides, MIC was a supposedly “independent” body which had the responsibility of informing the general public about the Malta-EU negotiations and all the relevant information about EU institutions etc.

Is Simon Busuttil now admitting that, in fact, he considered his role as head of MIC a political role? And hence considered the PL – then led by Dr Alfred Sant and not Joseph Muscat – as his political adversary?

Such ridiculous statements by the PN leader continue to convince serious and intelligent voters that Simon Busuttil is in a desperate political situation due to the fact that he is not fit for purpose.
