The Nationalist Party held a meeting with members of the MCESD to discuss the pre-budget document and the proposals which it includes. This meeting was held as, for the second consecutive year, the PN is launching a pre-budget document with proposals.

Mario de Marco, the Deputy Leader of the PN for Parliamentary Affairs, led the presentation and explained that these proposals are based on an analysis which looks into the local economic situation.

He said that the Maltese economy is facing a number of serious challenges, among others, the fact that no new economic sectors were created in the last three years and the risk of having Malta's reputation tarnished 'which has grown since the Labour Party is in government.' De Marco also mentioned the pension system, manufacturing industry and Air Malta.

The proposals set by the PN are divided in five sectors; economic development, public spending, social justice, environment and the infrastructure, health and education.

"These proposals will also complement previous documents issued by the PN, including the document Economy for the People and on Reducing Traffic Congestion.
