A new Nationalist Party government will increase pensions and eliminate income tax on pensions for elderly people to lead better lives.

In a statement issued on World Elderly Peoples Day, the PN said it will also revise taxes paid by elderly people on dividends received from investment made in shares.

The PN pledges to give all medicines free of charge to elderly people and increase subsidies to families who rent out their property from private individuals.

The statement was signed by shadow minister for social policy Paula Mifsud Bonnici and spokesman for the elderly Robert Cutajar.
