The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both sides. This agreement enhances the bilateral relations between Malta and Hong Kong and provides the necessary regulatory framework for the operations of air services whilst ensuring safety and security, a Department of Information statement said

The entry into force of this agreement allows the airlines of both sides to be able to operate flights between Malta and Hong Kong as well as strengthen the cooperation between them in the area of air transportation.

This agreement is in line with Government’s policy to continue to increase connectivity by air, the DOI said.
