Maltco Lotteries release their Corporate Social Responsibility Publication

Maltco Lotteries, Malta's national lottery brand, has just published its Corporate Social Responsibility Release (CSR Publication June '15 to June '16), which covers four key pillars: Responsible Gaming; Retail; Sports; and, Charity.

Maltco is certified by the World Lottery Association's and by the European Lotteries for fully applying and maintaining the Responsible Gaming framework.

With this year's theme 'Society Positive', the publication highlights Maltco's commitment to the local community.

Maltco has led the standards in the local gaming industry to ensure that everyone involved in the Maltco portfolio of games are fully conversant with Responsible Gaming principles as advocated by the company.

Maltco also contribute €50,000 towards the Responsible Gaming Fund and has undertaken an annual programme to train over 600 Maltco agents and their assistants on Responsible Gaming.

In the CSR release, Maltco highlights their work to prevent underage play, sponsor sports events such as the European Week of Sports and the Malta Chess Federation, amongst many, as well as making considerable donations to charities such as L-Istrina and the Community Chest Fund.

Furthermore, the government's Good Causes Fund is furnished with around €600,000 annually consisting in the entirety of Maltco's games unclaimed prizes.

Maltco is also an active participant in the cultural life of the island sponsoring concerts of renowned local and international singers.

The company also supported business events such as the Mediterranean Leaders' Forum; The Economist.

A spokesperson for Maltco said that the relevance of Corporate Social Responsibility to the company goes much further than Responsible Gaming.

Maltco leads a vision in Malta's gaming industry, a vision based on the fundamental principle of being a responsible organization, rather than just an organization with a responsible gaming programme.
