The Malta Police Association (MPA) and the Police Officers Union (POU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday, to work together on items of mutual interest.

Following meetings between the two unions, the two agree that when it comes to questions relating to police officer working conditions, the two should act collectively.

The MOU was signed in the Police Commissioner's office, in the presence of Commissioner Laurence Cutajar and Assistant Commissioner Carmelo Magri.

In the coming days, the MPA and POU will ask the Home Affairs Minister, Carmelo Abela, to initiate talks regarding a new sectoral agreement to address the particular realities of the police corps.
