The Environment Resources Authority will be discussing the request made by Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil for an extension to the period of consultation following the publication of risk assessment reports about the presence of the LNG tanker in Marsaxlokk Bay.
In a letter the Dr Busuttil, the ERA said it is looking into the legal implications of such a request.
Dr Busuttil had requested the extension because the party said the 30-day deadline is not enough for the reports, which contain thousands of pages, to be analysed in detail.
