Two migrants were airlifted to hospital from on board a Spanish naval vessel on Saturday evening, the government said this morning. 

Late yesterday evening, after a request by MRCC Rome, RCC Malta dispatched an AW 139 helicopter after two migrants on board a Spanish Naval Vessel, participating in the EUNAVFORMED Sophia, needed medical assistance.

The two migrants were transferred to the AFM’s Air Wing and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
