Simon Busuttil’s bitterness to the fore, once again

Sunday, 23 October 2016, 07:35 Last update: about 9 years ago

The Leader of the Opposition’s reaction to the budget speech once again exposed his political bitterness at seeing this government’s ever-increasing success in so many sectors. Political bitterness oozed out of every pore in Simon Busuttil’s body as he addressed the press minutes after Minister Edward Scicluna had ended his budget speech.

The glum expressions on the faces of Dr Busuttil’s own parliamentary group, who were sitting behind him, must have convinced many that they were feeling very uncomfortable listening to their leader trying to rubbish such an excellent budget. I truly wonder whether Simon Busuttil had consulted the new PN electoral campaign manager before he gave his reaction. After all, whatever is said by the Leader of the Opposition can have a direct effect on how voters judge him. And what Simon Busuttil said – describing the budget as “cosmetic” and “with no vision”, etc. – can only have confirmed to intelligent voters that Simon Busuttil is definitely not fit to ever be trusted to lead our dear country.
