10 people arrested in police drug raid; Peruvian to be arraigned

Ten people were arrested by the police in a drug raid carried out in an undisclosed location, the police said.

The arrested people, three women and seven men, are aged between 18 and 35. It did not give details on their nationality and place of residence.

The police lifted 200 grammes of cannabis resin, 100 grammes of cannabis, 70 ecstasy pills, 30 grammes of cocaine and €2,000 in cash, along with other items  connected with drug trafficking.

A man of Peruvian nationality with a Spanish passport, who is resident in Malta, will be arraigned in court later today, the police said. He will be accused of trafficking and possession of drugs.
