In September, the number of people registering for work dropped to 3,207, which is the lowest amount since September 1979, 37 years, the government said today.
This is 1,717 lower than the September figure for 2015, the government said.
In this legislature, seven employed people found a job every two days, it added.
The drop in unemployment is also being felt among young people, with the number of youngsters registering for work going down by 261, or a total of 930 since the start of the legislature.
The number of people aged 45 registering for work has also dropped by 1,450 in the same timeframe.
