Dar il-Ġublew tal-Ħniena in Għajsielem Gozo was inaugurated on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This is the fourth out of ten such homes that are being set up as part of the Soċjetà Ġusta (Just Society) project.

The home is the product of collaboration between Fondazzjoni Arka and the government, which had funded the €350,000 project.

Dr Caruana said the ambitious project was aimed at improving the quality of community life of persons with disabilities.

The Parliamentary Secretary said the Church is a main partner in the project, having already been involved in the opening of Dar Shalom in Żurrieq

The home will accommodate five persons and the service offered will conform to recently established standards for homes for disabled people, the government said.
