Pure, floating voices, impeccable intonation and the performance of a variety of choral music combine to create the Amadeus Chamber Choir- one of Malta's few professional chamber choirs.

Choristers of the Amadeus Chamber Choir are rehearsing hard to ensure they live up to expectations during their annual Christmas appointment performance on 17 December 2016 at the Mdina Cathedral.

The Choir has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1990.  The success of this led to a series of concerts along the years, performed by a growing choir. It is the brain child of Brian Cefai, who himself credits a choir which is part and parcel of his artistic career.

"Since its inception, the choir has evolved both in the number of choristers as well in its repertoire," explained Brian Cefai immediately after one of the rehearsals. "Rehearsals start well in advance before the performance, and intensify the closer we get to the concert," he added.

"The Choir is pleased to be performing in aid of Dar Tal-Providenza which plays a crucial role in our community, enabling its residents to live a life with dignity in a family-like environment that provides care and individual attention", said Brian.  "A Prelude to Christmas, will be a treat for everyone in the run up to the festive season. The choir is particularly looking forward to singing some of the best known carols but has some more jazzy surprises up its sleeve also. We aim to have everyone's Christmas favourite covered" continued Brian.

The Amadeus Chamber Choir has this year performed at the Almudena Cathedral in Spain along with a concert at the Parrooqui di San Cristobal and San Raffael in aid of a Spanish Charity.
