No Portfolio Minister Konrad Mizzi this morning said that “very soon you will be in a position to know all the facts” regarding the secret company he opened in Panama, which gave him the unenviable mention as the only minister in the European Union to be listed in the Panama Papers.

He was confirming a story that was published last Sunday by The Malta Independent on Sunday, which quoted OPM sources saying that the audit commissioned into the financial affairs of the minister will be published next month to coincide with a fact-finding mission to Malta by the European Parliament’s Panama Papers committee.

The committee is due in Malta on 20 February.

Pressed by journalists to give more information, Dr Mizzi urged them to stick to the subject – the press conference was called as the tanker MV Galea was entering Marsaxlokk Harbour to prepare the LNG Armada Mediterranea for refuelling.

At the end of the event, journalists continued to ask the minister to give more details but he refused to do so.
