Malta will be re-introducing border control to coincide with EU informal summit

The Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security in a statement this evening said that in view of the security requirements in connection with the Malta Informal Summit of 3 February, and the Valletta Action Plan Meeting on the 8 and 9 February of 2017, there will be a re-introduction of border checks at the Malta International Airport and the Valletta Sea Passenger Terminal for trips departing to, and arriving from, Schengen states. These controls will be in place as from the 21 of January 2017 at 0001 hours to the 9 of February 2017 at 2400 hours.
