Gozo Minister Anton Refalo said that 450 children participate in sport activities through the sports programme 'on the move' each Friday and Saturday.

He was visiting the sports complex in Rabat, Gozo. He said that the attendance rate this year has hit record highs, where at the beginning of the programme only 100 children had attended.

The scheme is run by the Gozo Sports Board in collaboration with the Gozo ministry, and is run by SportsMalta. The Gozo ministry is subsidising the price and is also offering free transport from every village.

A Gozo ministry statement read that for the first time, specific sessions for Pre-K and kindergarten students are being organised, "this aside from the 'keep fit' sessions".

There will be a number of new disciplines this year, the statement read, and those showing the most interest are badminton, horse riding, cycling, chess, rugby, yoga, athletics, tennis, squash, dance, gymnastics etc.
