It’s a shame

Sunday, 22 January 2017, 08:09 Last update: about 8 years ago

If I don't write this letter, it's going to keep burning in my mind. I am referring to the case of the police officer who was brutally attacked in the course of his duty.

Although my time in the force has passed long ago, it's still running in my blood. With all respect, allow me to appeal (not that I have to) to the prosecution to use all the powers invested in it by law to put this enemy of the public - a beast - away.

To conclude, may I express my solidarity with this brave police constable, his family and his girlfriend and, from the bottom of my heart, wish him a speedy recovery so that he may return to duty and continue to serve civilised society.
