1,160 of these couples had a Maltese bride and groom, while 73 had one Maltese spouse and one foreign.

10 marriages involving Maltese who live abroad were also registered, and so were 111 foreign couple weddings.

76 civil marriages were also registered with the Church.

The Curia noted that there were 17 widowers/widows who remarried last year, and 51 persons who had their first marriage annulled also remarried.

The Church noted that the most popular months for weddings were May, June and July, and most marriages involved persons aged between 20 and 29.
