An industry-wide reservations systems failure affected Air Malta for a few hours, the airline said in a statement today. They returned to normal in the afternoon.
Sabre systems, who confirmed the outage, reported a system issue early this morning. Sabre is used by more than 400 airlines worldwide.
The airline’s operations are not affected. Air Malta is in constant contact with Sabre to minimise inconveniences to passengers, the airline said.
The Maltese airline regrets any inconvenience caused to clients due to circumstances beyond its control and is increasing its resources at the call centre which can be contacted on +356 21 66 22 11. The call centre is taking all enquiries and will be calling back the passengers once the system is up again, the airline said.
