The Nationalist Party said today Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had been caught lying again, this time about the “supposed” audits carried out for Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi.

The PN, reacting to a report in The Malta Independent, said Dr Muscat had kept Konrad Mizzi’s audit hidden for five months and the report was only published this week, to coincide with the visit by the PANA committee.

“Worse still, Joseph Muscat had lied to the public on 7 October, when he said the audit was still a work in progress. Back then, the PM was already in possession of the report,” the PN said.

This was the latest from a series of lies by the PM in his attempts to defend the corruption that has engulfed the Auberge de Castille.

“No audit can take the place of a police and FIAU investigation, more so when the members of the PANA committee are insisting that this is a case of money laundering, which carries a maximum penalty of 18 months imprisonment.”
