An encouraging number of students are celebrating their graduation after successfully completing the Level 4 Advanced Diploma programme in their respective area of study within MCAST's Technical College. The eight graduation ceremonies, held at the MCAST Main Campus, in Paola took place between 7 and 20 February.
MCAST's Technical College has seen further growth since the last academic year, with students numbering 2,726 following one of the 51 programmes at Advanced Diploma level across all MCAST Institutes.
The already substantial choice of courses offered by the MCAST Technical College has increased further and has seen the launch of a number of innovative programmes, such as the Advanced Diploma in Food Technology, the Advanced Diploma in Cultural Heritage and the Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts.
It is always with pride that MCAST follows the development and achievement of students who start their path at Foundation Level, persevering to work up to higher levels.
This is the success story of several students at MCAST, but perhaps worthy of note for their exemplary results are Dylan Delceppo from the Institute of Information Technology, Christian Grech from the Institute for the Creative Arts and Charlton Mifsud from the Institute of Applied Science, all of whom are now following the Level 6 degree programme in their respective area of study.
Other students find their career path immediately following their graduation at Level 4, as was the case of Nicholas Ferry from the Institute of Business and Commerce, who received the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and joined an established local accounting firm.
Another success story is that of Rebecca Aquilina, who joined MCAST as a mature student and successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Children's Care, while juggling her home life as a parent and notwithstanding other personal challenges. Rebecca now works as an LSA with a government school.
Other students enroll for a Level 4 programme having obtained their SEC certification and go on to achieve their educational goals with MCAST. Such was the case of Daniel Buhagiar, who is graduating in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Throughout his studies, Daniel was a proud flag bearer of everything MCAST stands for, both during his apprenticeship period working on super yachts servicing as well as an Erasmus student abroad. He is now furthering his studies in the Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics.
Stephen Cachia, MCAST Principal and CEO, congratulated the graduates on their achievements. He stated that these ceremonies celebrate the achievements of young individuals who opted to continue studying rather than seeking employment. He also congratulated and thanked all MCAST staff members for continuously supporting the College students.
Dr Silvio De Bono, President of the Board of Governors, also congratulated the students on their achievements at Level 4 and encouraged them to further their studies at higher levels.
