A hooded man brandishing a knife this evening held up a  clothes shop in Rabat, the police said. The robbery took place at around 18:45 in St Paul’s Street.

The man barged into the shop an ordered the 24-year-old salesgirl, who is from Birkirkara and reportedly pregnant, to hand over the money. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading an inquiry.
