The Nationalist Party once again criticised the Prime Minister’s decision to allow No Portfolio Minister Konrad Mizzi to lead the European Union’s energy council, which is meeting in Brussels today.
Joseph Muscat is ready to sacrifice Malta’s image to hide his shortcomings, the PN said in a statement.
Mizzi is the only European minister to have been caught opening up a company in Panama, and as the PANA committee meeting in Malta last week established, this is a “textbook case of money laundering”, a crime which could lead to an 18-year prison term.
Instead of leading the EU energy council, Mizzi should be investigated by the police, which has however chosen to do nothing in spite a report submitted by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit.
