Tuesday, 7 March 2017, 10:39 Last update: about 8 years ago

On 11 March, the team behind Science in the City will be hosting two separate but related events in collaboration with The Big Van Theory. This dynamic group of practitioners, hailing from a vast array of scientific fields, have performed in hundreds of theatres world-wide and now they're coming to Malta! Their mission: to bring science to the public through comedy and laughter.

The group will be putting on a comedy show for children and a hard hitting stand up for adults.

Their first event, Clowntifics, will be held between 5 and 6pm at the Malta Society of Arts, in Valletta. This interactive show for children between ages 4 and 11, combines clowns, comedy and experiments to help kids explore the wonders of science. Entrance is against a donation of €5 per person at the door.

Their second event, The Big Van Theory Monologues, will be taking place between 8.30 and 9:30pm at the Royal British Legion, also in Valletta. This show is targeted at adults and will be presenting topics such as genetically modified organisms, evolution and pathogenic bacteria. Entrance is against a donation of €8 per person at the door.

This event is organised by the Science in the City festival team and the Malta Chamber of Scientists. Supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation and Get Your Act Together.
