The police force has announced a recruitment drive, aimed at recruiting more police officers to the force, where applications will be accepted at the Floriana Headquarters until 17 April.

In a statement, the Home Affairs Ministry said that the fight against criminality, a police constable is the one to preserve peace and public order, to prevent offences and to promote the observance of the law, while enforcing it.

The selection process for the applications will be threefold, based on physical efficiency, an interview and a medical exam "Following the selection process, recruits will undertake an intensive training programme at the academy."

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said that this is yet another investment in the expansion in human resources, aimed at strengthening district stations in Maltese and Gozitan localities.
