Crossing - a creative project which constitutes a series of culminations of artistic perceptions that combines both music and the visual arts. It is expressed by individualistic emotions and ideas, intellectually created by two professional artists - music composed by Simon Sammut and visual arts by Anthony Catania.

The project which is made up of twelve compositions is a fully-fledged soundscape that is taken from different stylistic genres of music, capturing the essence of the traditional Western art music to the contemporary electronic art form of the twenty-first century. Assimilating together the creativity of both music and visual arts, the concept of Crossing assimilates the intersection of boundaries, may it be geographical, physical, intellectual or psychological.

Both Sammut and Catania meticulously and diligently crafted this project through years of experience, a journey that has taken them to explore a new dimensional sphere of themes, such as, by conveying a message, scene or a story. It is structured to protrude the current social issues that are continuously being manifested in our daily lives - topics that focus on migration, mental health, technology, environment, and diversity.

Although the music is tailored to cultivate a wide spectrum of people and different communities, it leaves an impact on the audience which allows them to draw their own imaginary scenery of emotions through Crossing.

This unique project is one of a kind that cannot be missed. Various well-established musicians and artistic/technical advisors will take part in this exceptional project which takes place at Robert Sammut Hall, Floriana on 19th May at 8 pm. Tickets can be bought from http://new.ticketline.com.mt/ at 15 euro (price includes the CD album and a full colour booklet).
