Watch: Reveller gets hit by a pigeon on Ferrari rollercoaster

Tuesday, 11 April 2017, 09:43 Last update: about 8 years ago

A reveller trying Europe’s fastest and tallest rollercoaster was hit by a pigeon during the 112mph ride.

The thrill-seeker was left with blood on his face after being whacked by the bird as he enjoyed the Red Force vertical accelerator at Ferrari Land near Barcelona.

He didn’t appear to realise at first what had hit him just 12 seconds into the ride.

But as he looked down at his left shoulder he saw the bird on his chest, retained by the force of gravity.

It is not clear whether the pigeon was dead or alive and hit any of the people behind him on its way down.

A friend next to him missed the action because he had his eyes closed.

The bizarre incident took place on Thursday as 1,500 thrill-seekers attended the grand opening of the Ferrari Land theme park.

The 40ft-high Red Force accelerator lets people experience the same sensations felt by Formula 1 drivers as it hits speeds of 112mph in just five seconds.
