Magistrate Aaron Bugeja has started his inquiry into the allegations made by blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia that the mysterious Egrant company set up in Panama is or was owned by the Prime Minister’s wife Michelle Muscat.

Magistrate Bugeja was seen entering the Pilatus Bank offices in Ta’ Xbiex this morning, from where he left after an hour.

He later went to the law courts in Valletta to start hearing witnesses who will help him in the inquiry.

Witnesses are heard without the presence of the public or the media.

Members of the police Economic Crimes Unit were also seen entering the bank’s premises.
