Three injured in two separate accidents in Rabat, Mellieha

Three people are in hospital with serious injuries after they were involved in two separate traffic accidents in Rabat and Mellieha, the police said today.

At 1.15pm, a motorbike and a car were involved in a crash in Triq ta’ Tlampa, Rabat.

A 55-year-old Frenchman, who was riding the bike with a 55-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment. He was reported to have suffered slight injuries, while the woman was grievously hurt.

The 48-year-old driver of a Toyota Hilux, resident of Zabbar, was not injured.

At 3.30pm, a Toyota Vitz driven by a 20-year-old woman of Mellieha was involved in an accident with a Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 30-year-old of Mellieha.

The accident happened in Santa Marija Street.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the man was unhurt.
