Richmond Foundation will form part of the CSR aspect of this event, since MBR Publication Ltd (MBR) is totally committed to give something back to society. CSR is an increasingly important issue in business, as managers, consumers, investors and employees have begun to understand how economic growth is linked to social and environmental well-being. The Puttinu Cares Children Cancer Foundation will also participate and will address the press conference launch on Tuesday 25th April at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, San Anton at 10am.

Martin Vella, managing director of MBR Publications Ltd said, "In many ways it's understandable that volunteering is sometimes seen as a preferable alternative to fundraising as it encourages employees to engage more directly with a cause. Realistically though, it is the latter that enables charities to do their vital work. You would be hard pushed to find a cause that would choose volunteer time over a cash donation, as money is the lifeblood of any charity. And we are doing our bit to help foundations such as Puttinu Cares as we feel this should not be just our duty and obligation; rather it's a mission, and as Catholics we should practise what we preach."

All judges involved in selecting the winners will attend the press conference, followed by a reception, during which all the judges will be introduced and a Q&A session will be held.

Unlike any other award programme, Malta's iGaming Excellence Awards 2017, has a special judging process, with selected qualified experts going over submissions through a transparent system, which has been uniformly and uniquely created (vide attached scorecard), unlike any other iGaming awards held previously. MBR is the pioneer of award gala events in Malta and has built up a strong and sound reputation wherein such awards are organised. It has been organising awards for over seven years, and it is realistic when constructing the easiest possible system by which judges can make their best choices.

Judges for each category will examine and analyse the documents submitted by the respective nominees, with freedom to request further information and liaise with the organisers, who are solely responsible to speak to the nominee companies. A winner will then be decided by the judges through a point allocation system, including 20 points scored on the night when all nominees are called on stage to answer a question 'live' in less than 30 seconds.

Nominees have been asked to present thorough submissions on each criterion, including supporting documents, testimonials, certificates, awards, infographics and statistics, which may be added to their submissions.

Judging Criteria

Judges will receive written information about the nominee companies representing the various local and overseas companies which have business registered in Malta under MFSA/MGA regulations prior to the final selection in the various categories of the top 30 nominees. They will then vet one question for each nominee company, whose representative/CEO/MD will answer live on the final night, as they assess the candidates according to seven different sets of criteria.

Individual criteria differ by category, but the emphasis is on the overall quality of the entry: the merits of the claims to innovation, integrity, effectiveness, creativity, growth, etc. claimed in the entry, relative to the judges' experience and their knowledge of the participant's industry, as well as the quality of the entry's content itself. Judges are also recommended to view the nominee websites and take this into consideration with regard to overall presentation.

Judges tend to value well-written entries that are long on facts and short on fluff; that come close to the word-limit for their categories (i.e. that aren't perceived as being too short); and that are supported by attachments such as a link to a corporate website, press clippings, work samples, etc. These awards are widely recognised as a benchmark for identifying the best up-and-coming gaming companies and gaming entrepreneurs.

The judges, who will have the difficult task of selecting one to be the category winner, should be seeking exceptional performance, perhaps in very testing market conditions by organisations that have moved outside their comfort zone to innovate not only in terms of product or service creation but perhaps by entry into new markets, innovation through new products, excellence in service, or by process innovation throughout any part of their supply chain to achieve sustainable success within a highly ethical framework.

Chairman of Judges

YOBETIT CEO Nikolai Livori has been nominated Chairman of Judges. Mr Livori will be responsible for collecting the overall scorecards from the respective judges on the final night and will relay all the information and judges' scorecards and points to the Executive Chairman Martin Vella, Vice-President, Malta's iGaming Excellence Awards® Board of Evaluation. Mr Livori heads a prestigious judging panel which will decide the winners of Malta's iGaming Excellence Awards. Mr Livori's success as an entrepreneur includes building up YOBETIT, the company he founded, which holds a Class 2 Maltese Gaming Authority licence. |It is based in San Ġwann and has a growing team with members from all corners of the globe. With a solid educational background in mathematics, computer science and AI, as well as business acumen, he has dived into different areas such as game development, e-learning and iGaming as well as data mining and gamification for marketing and innovation purposes. The Executive Chairman, together with the Board will issue the results and hand over to the hosts, who will announce the winners, calling them on stage to receive the awards and accredited certificates.

For those entering the awards, the opportunity to network with and be assessed by some of the best entrepreneurial gaming leaders in their sector or region will be an invaluable experience. Many participants have seen direct commercial benefits following a vigorous review of their business, and the presentation of their growth plans in front of industry experts who share their vision and innovative approach.

Judging

All entries are first reviewed by Malta's iGaming Excellence Awards® Board of Evaluation to ensure that eligibility requirements are met, that entries are formatted properly in order to go forward to be judged, and that entries have been submitted in appropriate categories.

All judges receive written instructions on how to score entries. Judges are asked to score the achievements portrayed in each entry based on (a) their own experience, and (b) their understanding of how organisations and individuals in the nominee's industry performed in the eligibility timeframe, given the condition of the economy in general and the nominee's industry in particular. For entries in creative media categories, judges are asked to read the brief submitted about the entry's communications objectives, and to review and score the submitted media (website, video, live event, etc.) based on their originality, creativity, production values, and how well they believe the media meet the stated communications objectives.
