Two court messengers are under investigation for hiding a court file, a statement released this evening by the Ministry for Justice said.

The file that the messengers hid contained documents of a pending criminal case.

The Ministry said that the reason why the messengers hid this file is unknown; however their movements were caught on a CCTV camera. Both of them have been suspended.

The police have been called in and the investigation is being led by Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech.
