Tax exemption for Diplomas of acidity (PHd) rather than Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Social media users have been quick to spot typos on campaign billboards in the wake of the hastily called snap election taking place on 3 June.

One of the Labour Party’s electoral pledges was to provide for students achieving a Masters not to pay income tax for one year, while those graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy – PhD – will not have to pay income tax for two years.

One particular social media user pointed out that, on a Labour Party billboard found at the far end of the Birkirara Bypass (Lija side) is describing a tax exemption for a "diploma of acidity", rather than a Doctor of Philosophy: PhD.
