The 23-year-old Irish man who fell four storeys down a bastion in Cospicua has succumbed to the injuries, a UK based newspaper is reporting.
The young man, Cheyne Halliday, suffered brain injuries last Sunday after plunging more than four-storeys from the historic bridge. He was put into a medically-induced coma in Malta. His life support machine was turned off on Friday, the Mirror explains.
The newspaper is reporting how his family and friends had raised £14,000 to fly Halliday back to the UK for treatment. It appears Halliday, who lived in Edinburgh, had grown to become a popular figure in the local music scene.
