Credibility matters

Miriam Dalli Thursday, 18 May 2017, 15:58 Last update: about 8 years ago

In the midst of an embattled electoral campaign and promises made by the main parties, voters should keep in mind the aspect of credibility, Labour MEP Miriam Dalli said in her latest video blog for the Malta Independent. Listing down numerous achievements which the Labour Party delivered after promising them in its electoral manifesto four years ago, Dalli underlined how Joseph Muscat kept his word and delivered more than 85% of the manifesto, and this distinguishes him from the PN’s track record.

The Labour MEP also described the Electoral Campaign as ‘surreal’, where hate speech and personal attacks replaced political discourse and debates. Miriam Dalli points out that the example set by various candidates and even the Leader of the Opposition Simon Busuttil, does little to extinguish such negative behaviour. This divide will be difficult to erase after 3 June, she adds.
