Bad governance and corruption go together

Sunday, 21 May 2017, 08:20 Last update: about 8 years ago

It is absolutely amazing how the majority of people of these islands keep focusing their attention on Joseph Muscat even though they know that some of his decisions over the last four years, especially those regarding Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi, are tainted with corruption. Unbelievable!

The result of bad governance and corruption is that a government cannot function properly. Corruption is not good for business either, as reduced confidence in Malta's institutions is also damaging our international image. So what is Joseph Muscat waiting for to demonstrate that Malta's institutions are functioning in a normal way?

Perhaps these quotes will give the Maltese electorate greater knowledge and understanding of the situation: “Accepting corruption from our leaders means accepting dishonesty in our personal lives.”

“When you're dealing with liars, listen more to what they don't say than what they promise…”
