A pipe which burst while work was being carried out on the Sliema Strand has left residents from Sliema and Gzira without water since last night.

Reports were received by The Malta Independent from concerned residents and hotel management teams alike.

Contacted by this newspaper, a spokesperson for Water Services confirmed that the water shortage is linked to works on the Strand, Sliema, and it should be back by approximately 7pm this evening.

The spokesperson said that the residents can keep informed with announcements on Facebook and radio broadcasts.
