MCST executive chairman Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, who is also a Labour Party candidate on the 7th district, offered his constituents discounted entry to the interactive ESPLORA centre in Kalkara.
The MCST chairman told sections of the press that he would be subsidising the difference out of his own pocket. He had sent an SMS to residents of the 7th district, stating that if they visited the centre on a certain day and showed the SMS they had received, they would be allowed in at a discounted price, with adults being charged €3 and children allowed in for free.
Dr Pullicino Orlando is also listed on the MCST website as Director (Executive), Science Popularisation and ESPLORA Project, thus raising many eyebrows
This is just another in a long line of election goodies handed out by candidates this year, which have thus far included hampers and bottles of wine.
Jeffrey Pulllicino Orlando is a controversial candidate, who had gone head to head with former PL leader Alfred Sant back in 2008 over the Mistra scenario. Recently, Dr Sant told this newsroom that he would rather vote for Tal-Ajkla than Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando.
