Monday, 29 May 2017, 14:25 Last update: about 8 years ago

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta is growing bigger and better each year.

This year all shows have been held at Fort St Elmo allowing there to be a mix of shows, presentations, exhibitions and popup shows.

The turnout for all events has been excellent, clearly enforcing the public's enthusiasm for local creations, by utilising a platform such as fashion week to showcase local work, artists are given a chance to flourish both locally and internationally.

Fifteen local designers, as well as four international designers, are featured in this year's fashion week. Some of the highlights throughout the week have been Gaetano with his Divas collection which ended with Claudia Faniello singing Breathless, Eymeric Francois an haute couture designer from Paris, Carla Grima whose presentation completely brought to life the seaside vibe her collection is inspired by and many more.

The popup shops implemented for the first time as part of fashion week also allow one to view the collection off the catwalk, to feel the fabric and truly appreciate the designs.

With thanks to Valletta 2018, Arts Council Malta and Heritage Malta as well as the corporate sponsors of Malta Fashion Week and Awards, namely Mercedes-Benz, Chamilia, ALDO, Tresemme, Eva Garden and Coca-Cola.
