A woman and her teenage daughter were hospitalized this afternoon, after the car they were in flipped over at Bieb is-Sultan, in the vicinity of Cospicua and Zabbar.

The accident happened at about 1.30pm, when the 49-year-old mother from Kalkara lost control of her vehicle, a Hyundai Accent, and the vehicle ended up on its roof, with her 13-year-old daughter also inside.

The driver and passenger were taken out of the car and rushed to hospital with an ambulance.

The cause of the accident is still trying to be determined by police, as the road remains closed temporarily.
