The General Workers Union, Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Malta Developers Association have congratulated the Labour Party and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat for his electoral victory.

The Malta Developers Association said that the election result indicates that the new Government has a clear mandate to continue implementing the economic policy it has pursued successfully for the past four years. The MDA declares that it is prepared to continue to give its support for these policies aimed mainly at continuing to create wealth that reaches everyone.

Lastly, the MDA also notes that the Opposition, with political maturity, immediately acknowledged the Labour Party victory. "This continues to augur well, not only for democracy in the country, but also for continuity in all that is being implemented as well as in increasing wealth which, doubtlessly, is what all the political forces in the country would wish for."

The General Workers Union also congratulated the Prime Minister for the electoral victory. "GWU feels that this win gives a mandate for the government to lead with positive politics, so that the Maltese standard of living will be kept as high."

The Malta Chamber augured Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat the very best for his reappointment at a time when Malta needs to focus its attention on building on the successes achieved in the last years and maintaining a vigilant eye on the country's competitiveness.

"With an intense electoral campaign behind us, it is now time to look forward and start implementing the ambitious Labour Party's electoral programme" the Chamber said.
