PD urge Prime Minister to issue legal notices regarding Public Administration Act

 Partit Demokratiku MP and former PL Whip Godfrey Farrugia, issued a press release on behalf of the PD asking Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to issue the legal notices necessary to empower certain articles of the Public Administration Act which are not in force.

"With this meaningful act those amongst us who voted for good governance will be immediately appeased and made to feel acknowledged and respected. Such a move will go a long way towards strengthening our young democracy. Such a move will augur well for the upcoming legislature. Let us all move forward together."

The statement then quoted a number of clauses in the act relating to the Merit Principle; powers of heads of department in relation to employees; powers to create, abolish and classify position; appointments to position; filling positions by lateral appointment; removal of lateral posts; applicability of certain provisions in terms of the Constitution; etc.
