A refuse truck driver has been found responsible for a collision with a motorbike rider which occurred back in 2013 by the courts.
The Court ordered the driver to pay €58,345 in damages.
Charles Zahra was driving a truck at around 3.40pm in Rabat in March 2013, when he collided with a motorcycle ridden by Donald Cassar.
The motorcyclist suffered grievous injuries and ended up suffering a 15% disability.
Cassar told presiding Magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri that Zahra did not stop while he was leaving a car park. CCTV footage from the site was presented.
Zahra held that he looked for oncoming traffic, and after waiting for cars to pass he drove out.
The Court found Zahra's account to be inconsistent.
