Controversial Last Supper advert removed, to be replaced

Tuesday, 4 July 2017, 16:35 Last update: about 8 years ago

The controversial Last Supper advert in Msida has been removed and will be replaced by a new poster, New York’s Best owner Tommy Diacono told The Malta Independent.

The building’s owners contacted the advertising agency employed by NYB and requested the advert to be removed.

The advert, showing Jesus and the 12 Apostles eating pizza, burgers and chips, raised controversy over the last days.

Members of the Patrijotti Maltin went on site on Saturday to peel away “Jesus” from the picture, later also uploading photos of their action.

The whole advert has now been peeled off and will be replaced by another NYB advert on Wednesday.
