A cyclist suffered grievous injuries this morning after he was hit by a truck in Qrendi, the police said.

The accident took place at around 9am in Triq il-Panorama.

The cyclist, 39, from Mqabba, was hit by a Leyland DAF that was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Mtarfa.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
